BREAKING: Browns and Former Eagles LB Mychal Kendricks Charged With Insider Trading

If you thought you’ve seen everything in the world of sports, you’re deeply mistaken.

Seemingly out of nowhere, the Browns received awful news about their newest addition to their linebacking corps. After making his way from Philadelphia, Mychal Kendricks was ready to be the missing piece for Cleveland’s defense. Now, he’s got bigger issues to worry about.

According to Jeremy Roebuck, Kendricks is facing federal charges of insider trading, as he allegedly provided $10,000 in cash and Eagles tickets for inside stock information.

This tweet has since been updated:

Well, clearly the hits keep on coming for the Browns.

Forget about league suspensions or injuries, the NFL has moved over to federal crimes. Although Kendricks was very quick to release a statement, not even his most sincere apologizes can erase the damage that has already been done.

The Browns then released a statement of their own, saying the veteran will not be traveling with the team to Detroit for their final preseason game against the Lions.

Kendricks made it clear that he’s committed to repaying all of his illegally-gained funds, as he prepares to cooperate with the authorities. Unfortunately, it’ll probably take time for him to regain trust in the locker room.
