The heart of the Seahawks’ defense is on his way home.
For months now, fans everywhere in the Pacific Northwest were wondering if superstar safety Earl Thomas would ever return to the team’s practice facility in Renton, or if he’d be traded to Dallas/elsewhere.
Well, we now have our answer. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Thomas just announced he’s reporting to the Seahawks.
His caption read, “I worked my whole life for this….. I’ve never let me teammates, city or fans down as long as I’ve lived and don’t plan on starting this weekend. With that being said, the disrespect has been well noted and will not be forgotten. Father Time may have an undefeated record but best believe I plan on taking him into triple overtime when it comes to my career.”

Now that Thomas is back in the fold for Seattle on Wednesday, this is obviously a monster addition for its defense.
With Richard Sherman, Michael Bennett, Kam Chancellor and multiple others now gone, there’s no denying Thomas is the soul of the unit. He’s a Pro Bowl DB for a reason. He lays the wood and his coverage skills are top notch. Last season, he recorded 88 tackles and two interceptions. He’ll look for those numbers to grow, as he’s still hoping for an extension.
Just when things were starting to look bleak for the Hawks, Thomas dropped this monster news. Seattle, collectively, is celebrating right now.
