You never know who’s watching you!
This was the case for Odell Beckham Jr., who just recently signed a five-year, $95 million extension with the New York Giants. But despite the agreement, the superstar wide receiver was the topic of many trade discussions just a few months ago.
Once a video surfaced of Beckham in bed with what very much appeared to be a powdery white substance, an unnamed team that was interested in pursuing a trade for the three-time NFL Pro Bowler reportedly decided to hire a private investigator to keep tabs on him.

It sounds pretty ridiculous in my opinion. If a team is that concerned with his lifestyle, why bother entertaining the idea of trading for him in the first place?
Since the video surfaced, Beckham has been on his best behavior. But this upcoming season will be a true test to see if he has really matured. Now that the ink is dry on his new deal, some believe his antics will make an unwanted return.
The #Giants and WR Odell Beckham Jr have agreed to terms on a 5-year extension worth a whopping $95M, source said. He gets the highest guarantee ever for a WR at $65M and averages $20M over the first 3 years. Nice job by the #NYG and agent Zeke Sandhu getting this done. Win/win💰

When the controversial video surfaced, Beckham surely came to a realization that not only are adults watching him play, but kids admire his game as well. Now that the Giants organization is comfortable with paying the receiver a record-setting sum, it’s a reasonable assumption that his days of acting out and being stalked by a private detective are over.
