On Monday, the Minnesota Vikings were forced to make a roster move due to injuries at an already thin offensive line.

Guard Bryan Witzmann, formerly of the Kansas City Chiefs, was brought in to replace Aviante Collins, who was placed on injured reserve after suffering an elbow injury that kept him sidelined for the first week of the season.

Witzmann, only 28 years old, started 13 games at left guard for the Chiefs last year and is a perfect fit for the Vikings zone blocking scheme. He also displayed his durability while at South Dakota State, starting a school record 49 straight games throughout his four year college career. His college quarterback, Dominic Clair had high praise for him and was on board with the potential signing for the Vikes.

He took to Twitter to advocate for him.

Hopefully Witzmann gives the Vikings line the depth they need to sustain their offense and protect Kirk Cousins. If they can fix their woes in the trenches, there’s not much stopping this team from playing in February.
